Fuelmyblog’s book: The human behind the avatar

sylvied-avatar1.jpg

Have you ever wondered who is behind the avatar? I have.I visit and read blogs every day with Fuelmyblog. I have come to “know” some of my blogging friends pretty well. Enough to pop in every day and check what they are up to in their blogs/life and leave a comment. For example, I know Daddy Papersurfer is currently enjoying a holiday in Portugal….but I could not tell you where my cousin is at the moment…I know Penfold is looking for love, Mr Woppit is still recovering from spending 3 years in a tea chest near Dartford…70steen is reminescing about the 70s and has a couple of teenage daughters ( is that right?) Bill is rediscovering the joys of being single. I have to stop here but I could go on all night…

My point is…behind each blog there is a human being. Who is hiding behind the avatars? That’s this month topic in Fuelmyblog. We are publishing a Fuelmyblog’s book with Blurb. The Human Behind The Avatar. To be part of it you need to be registered with us, take a picture of yourself holding your avatar or even better get somebody to do it for you! Load it here and add a little description of your blog and the reasons why you blog.

15% of all sales will be donated to charity. Hope to see you in there!

  1. I’m going to get my image done in Vegas. I can’t wait for the trip. And the book idea is perfect. Something that you guys and your love of bloggers would certainly come up with. Fantastic!

  2. Thanks Drew, can’t wait to see all the entries!
I am jealous of course you going to Vegas but someone has to stay and look after the site!
    Have fun!

  3. I can’t reveal the face behind nursemyra.

    I’d get fired :-(

  4. It is weird how much you get to know your bloggy friends.

I can’t reveal myself, though. I’m anonymous and secret and it’s too risky to be anything else.

  5. Nursemyra:…you could hide in a surgeon outfit and hold your avatar to your face noone would recognize you!
Guilty Secret: I love your guilty secret! same as Nurse M you can hide…

  6. I oten wonder who is behind my father’s avatar. Or what. Or indeed if there is anything there at all…
    Great idea…
I shall be there as soon as I can!

  7. Penfold…if you can’t answer that one who can?…have you seen what he has been up to?
    I feel for you!

  8. hey there… i want to say something that is not actually related to the topic… but, i still want to say it! :)

  9. A good idea!;-)Mmmm…but my terrible english might send buyers away, I rather not!!!! :-)

  10. Oh my yet another marvelous contest and idea and I can’t join in. I am out on the road in my hubby’s truck all month and have absolutely no way to enter. I just wanted you to know that I wasn’t being a bad sport.

  11. Baby: Thank you baby, I hope you take part in the book ;-)
belinda: That will make two of us! diversity is the word that comes to my mind.
Shinade: No worries you enjoy your trip! I would never think you are a bad sport!

    ~Olga

  18. Olga: I would have never thought that!

  19. Congrats for the blog, Sylvie & count me in The human behind the avatar.

Hey Thomas, not need to hide. Everybody sometimes feels more like flesh n bone and others like a piece or furniture or even a fractal. The only reason I don’t show up like Scrat, the rat-squirrel from Ice Age is due to copyright reasons ;)

However, I think the whole of the thing is the picture of the hand holding the avatar, holding the blog, holding the ideas, holding …

    Cheers to everybody!

  20. There is no human form behind my avatar - only seething resentment and failure - still there you go.

  21. Noir: I love your blog and just added you as a friend!
love all the recipes…unfortunately my spanish is letting me down…
DaddyP: And how is your holiday?…must be dark in that box!
