iséo
30 rue Saint Jean du Pérot
17000 La Rochelle
I went to Iséo for our wedding anniversary (10 years). The food is simply exquisite, a mix of a fusion of Thai and French cuisine. The atmosphere is very good too with full spotlight on the kitchen action. Find it here.
On the expensive end but totally worth it.
Last month the boss also opened a take away version called iséo gourmet near the market square in la Rochelle. The food was just as good as the restaurant for a third of the price:
Iséo Gourmet
2 rue des Cloutiers
L’Aunis:
14, Rue St Jean du Pérot
17000 Rochelle (La), France
Went twice so far and not the least disappointed. Food is French but not heavy, right portions, right price and right amount of choice. They have a very reasonable seasonal menu I would totally recommend you eating outside one summer evening and enjoy watching the world go by while eating really good food.
Les Frangins:
The dishes are all written on blackboards and change regularly (something I always find reassuring). The food is unsophisticated and unpretentious yet very scromptuous and served on sturdy pretty plates. The atmosphere is very cosy and the restaurant lives a minute away from Place Verdun, close to town but away from the busy part of La Rochelle. The owner are lovely and clearly passionate about food. In short: a gem!

…and logo is cute too!
